Position Overview
Our School Social Workers impact students’ lives by:
+ Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school
+ Interviewing students individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs
+ Counseling students, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, childcare, or medical needs
+ Maintaining case history records and preparing reports
+ Counseling students whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical impairment indicates a need for assistance, diagnosing problems, and arranging for needed services
