JOB SUMMARY

The After Hours Manager/Administrator is the most senior clinical manager on site and is responsible for addressing any and all issues that arise in consultation with the Senior Leader on-call, as required. Responsibilities include the oversight of all clinical areas, the coordination of site/corporate patient flow, providing support to staff, patients and visitors and coordinating nursing staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates the flow and/movement of patients throughout the organization by: Understanding and acting on the corporate priority of ensuring that the emergency department has as few patients as possible awaiting an inpatient bed Understanding the process for assigning beds to patients when all “existing” beds are in use, i.e. overflow beds Understanding the process(s) for transferring patients to other health care facilities locally, in Ontario, Canada or the United States
