General Summary:
The PA under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic Gyn patients. Assist in surgical cases with the provider within the hospital setting 1-2 days a weekProcedures to include IUD removal and insertions, Biopsies, Nexplanon insertion and removalsAssist in the OR as needed with Hysterectomies, Hysteroscopies, Bladder and Organ prolapse, Myomectomies, and moreOrders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as neededOrders preoperative and post-operative medications as neededCollaborates with physician as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support
