Position Overview
The **Aircraft Mechanic I (Sheetmetal/Structures UH-60, AH-64, CH-47)** Repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
· Repairs, fabricates, modifies and installs structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
· Mixes and applies fiberglass materials.
· Balances rotary-wing aircraft blades.
· Makes emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
· Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
· Performs checks; carry out inspections and removal of components.
· Mixes and applies primers and paints to aircraft surfaces.
