Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end algorithmic architecture for motor control, including traction, auxiliary, and hybrid motors.
  • Develop motor control strategies such as Field-Oriented Control (FOC), Direct Torque Control (DTC), sensorless control, and torque/speed regulation.
  • Design algorithms for inverter control, PWM modulation, current/voltage sensing, and thermal management.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize algorithms for embedded platforms (MCU, DSP, FPGA, SoC).
  • Ensure functional safety (ISO 26262) compliance for motor control algorithms and contribute to ASIL-level definitions.
  • Lead model-based algorithm development and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
  • Define interfaces between motor control algorithms and vehicle-level systems (battery management, drivetrain, regenerative braking).
