Responsibilities

• Paint buildings, residences, or automobiles. Prepare surfaces by cleaning before painting.
• Maintain job-related technical equipment and ensure it is in functioning order.
• Use a diverse set of painting tools (thin and thick brushes, airbrushes, rollers) and apply different painting techniques depending on the surface.
• Use masking tape or chemical rinses to remove old paint surfaces; provide adequate ventilation after application.
• Ensure stringent safety standards are met; use protective equipment such as painting goggles.
• Measure amount and texture of paint using viscosity cups and thickness gauges.
• Dispose of chemical waste safely.
• Coat metal with electroplating equipment and polish metallic surfaces as required.
• Touch-ups and painting minor items.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma.
• Painting experience on a range of surfaces.
