Main Purpose of the Role

The Assistant Headteacher will work under the direction of the headteacher and deputy headteacher to provide high-quality strategic and operational leadership for Gosford Park Primary School, a two-form-entry primary school in central Coventry. The postholder will help shape and communicate the school’s vision and values, champion inclusive practice and excellence in teaching and learning, and support rapid improvement through the RISE process.

The Assistant Headteacher will:

• Drive improvements in teaching, learning and outcomes across the school, with a particular focus on core subject leadership (reading, writing, mathematics).
• Support whole-school strategic priorities that respond to the school’s context.
• Promote a culture where all pupils are safe, motivated and achieve well, and where staff demonstrate high levels of professionalism and collaboration.
