SUMMARY

This position provides comprehensive diagnostic audiologic evaluations and amplification services to eligible patients, and provides audiologic consultation to assigned medical specialty clinics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


+ Conducts developmentally-appropriate audiologic evaluations to assess hearing acuity, middle ear function, cochlear function, the integrity of the auditory pathways, and speech discrimination abilities

+ Makes appropriate medical, habilitative, and educational recommendations based upon diagnostic findings

+ Recommends, orders, and fits traditional hearing aids and bone conduction hearing systems based on audiologic evaluation, age, developmental level, special needs of pediatric patients, and family input.

+ Performs hearing aid and earmold fittings with appropriate verification measures (i.e. probe tube measurements; RECDs)
