BACK-END JAVA ENGINEER

Location: Hybrid - Brighton, Burgess Hill (3 days/week)

Overview

This role focuses on building and maintaining backend microservices using modern Java (17+) and event‑driven architectures powered by Kafka. The position

involves working across distributed systems, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerised cloud‑native environments using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of professional Experience in Java development
Strong Experience designing and building microservices‑based architectures
Hands‑on Experience with event‑driven systems (Kafka preferred)
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases
