Job Description
The Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 1 constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs stationary steam boilers, closed vats, and pressure vessels at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.
Key Job Functions
Read blueprints to assemble boiler tanks and connect pipe systems, valves, and gauges using welding equipment and hand tools.Perform routine preventive maintenance like cleaning vats, replacing defective tubes, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring proper water chemical balance.Diagnose malfunctions, conduct pressure tests, and replace broken components to prevent leaks and inefficient operation.Regulate equipment, adjust controls, and maintain logs of fuel usage and pressure levels to meet Stationary Engineers and Boiler Operators safety and environmental standards.Performs other related duties as requiredQualifications
