Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for the peri-operative patient in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures and standards of care. Communicates findings as indicated to appropriate persons and documents same in the patient's medical record. Responsible for managing/overseeing the care and services provided by ancillary and other professional personnel. Responsible for managing supplies and other equipment within the unit. Develops and maintains a collaborative and collegial relationship with physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the care of the surgical patient.
