Following receipt of the complaint, a site inspection was conducted to assess the extent of the damage. The inspection confirmed that the balcony ceiling has been significantly affected by moisture and requires replacement. Additionally, minor paint damage was observed on the adjacent bedroom wall, which requires surface preparation and repainting.
The root cause of the damage was water infiltration through the rooftop during heavy rainfall, allowing moisture to penetrate the ceiling assembly and adjacent wall finishes. The rooftop waterproofing issue has since been rectified, eliminating the source of water ingress. The proposed remedial works are therefore limited to restoring the damaged ceiling and affected wall finishes to their original condition.
