Shield Road Primary School Governing Body are seeking to appoint a Clerk to commence duties 1 September 2026.

What the role is:

The fee payable is £1582 per annum and is based on 6-7 meetings per year. Additional hours may be required from time to time and will be paid at £14.00 per hour.

The successful candidate will work with the Governing Body and be required to:

•Organise and attend Governing Bodies meetings (in person- occasionally online) 6 – 8 (ish)pm

• Prepare agendas, collate and distribute relevant papers and take accurate minutes

• Advise the Governing Body on governance, legislation and procedural matters

• Maintain records and ensure statutory compliance

• Support the recruitment, induction and development of Governors

• Support the governance cycle

• Establish and maintain processes to support clear communication and effective governance
