Position Summary
In keeping with the mission of the Newborn Screening Ontario Program, the Clinical Content Specialist works to ensure every newborn in Ontario receives high‑quality and timely screening and treatment for serious diseases. The role is within a multidisciplinary team to provide analysis, follow‑up, education, research and development for the program.
Main Responsibilities
- Refer screen‑positive infants to regional treatment centres or primary health care providers, ensuring timely retrieval and using clinical judgment to determine urgency of referrals.
- Maintain a database of screen‑positive infants and their follow‑up information, inputting data in collaboration with the Laboratory Head, Program Director, or Medical Advisor, and complete documentation in the infant’s electronic chart.
