Lexdan Select is assisting a niche short-term insurance company with their search for a Commercial Underwriter, based in Pretoria, Gauteng.

The salary range on offer is between R480k - R600k p/a.

Functions:

Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements for general commercial lines from inception through to policy issuance Perform full risk assessment and pricing in line with company guidelines and delegated authorities Manage broker relationships and handle queries timeously and professionally Maintain accurate policy records and documentation throughout the policy lifecycle Liaise with claims teams up to (but not including) claims payment stage. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal underwriting standards. Contribute to the development and maintenance of underwriting procedures.

Requirements:

RE1, RE5 is required. Minimum 5 years’ commercial lines underwriting experience. Proven experience in a UMA, or similar environment...
