To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract.

Responsibilities

1. To perform the professional duties of a gastroenterologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
2. To conduct assessment & re-assessment for all patients in the OPD, on admission, and prior to any procedure.
3. To perform his duties in the G.I Clinic, evaluating patients with G.I. diseases.
4. To perform G.I. procedures – upper and lower G.I. endoscopies, liver biopsies, E.R.C.P., esophageal motility studies.
5. To provide consultation/referral services to the inpatient services in his area of expertise.
6. Provides after working hours on call emergency coverage for G.I. emergencies.
7. Provides supervision and education to the endoscopy staff, nurses, and technicians.
