Consultant Physician in Respiratory and General Medicine

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking to recruit a Consultant Physician in Respiratory and General Medicine based at University Hospital Monklands.

The job offers a full range of elective clinics, respiratory specialist procedural work, and in‑patient management of complex patients. The successful candidate will also participate on the general medical rota, including weekend working.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Severe Asthma service with a specialist Asthma clinic.
• Represent University Hospital Monkland at the Pan‑Lanarkshire Severe Asthma MDT.
• Oversee Respiratory Nurse‑Led clinics.
• Conduct a weekly MDT to discuss severe asthma patients on biologic therapies.
• Contribute to the Pan‑Lanarkshire Community Respiratory Team (CRT) MDT, providing consultant input on Early Supported Discharge and Admission Avoidance pathways.
