Reporting to the Service Manager – Transport & Depots, the Transport Manager will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Corporate Passenger Transport Unit, ensuring services are responsive to the needs of service users, communities, and the Council’s strategic priorities.
The postholder will oversee service performance across key transport functions, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery within agreed budgets. They will contribute to policy development, prepare operational reports, provide professional advice to senior management, and support informed decision-making.
The role requires effective partnership working with internal departments, external organisations, transport operators, and stakeholders, representing the Council at local, regional, and national forums.
