**Job Description :**

**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**

Independently works to perform routine and special procedures on patient specimens. Assists lab management with the daily operations of the department.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Microscopically screens slides containing cells from all body sites. Meets the minimum screening output standard. Microscopically screens slides utilizing imager technology. (25%)
+ Prepares and processes specimens and assists with fine needle aspirates, as needed, following departmental policies and safety guidelines. (20%)
+ Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation. Troubleshoots problems with quality control and test procedures and takes appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information. (20%)
