This position is within the Office of Outdoor Recreation - Office of Strategy and Planning under the Bureau of Conservation, and reports to the GIS Manager. The mission of the GIS Program is to empower the Bureau of Parks & Conservation to make smart, data-driven decisions.
An employee in this position is responsible for managing the Bureau of Parks & Conservation’s geographic information system; producing maps and other deliverables as requested; and contributing to GIS projects including, but not limited to, building custom GIS tools and solutions, and applying spatial analysis.
An employee in this position will collaborate with Tennessee State Parks operational staff, including Park Rangers, as well as other divisions within the Bureau, including Facilities Management, Marketing, and others.
