This position is within SPS’s Proactive Enforcement Section – Organized Crime Unit (Extortion investigations). The SPS Organized Crime Unit Detective Constables report to a Sergeant in charge. The members in this unit will work a variety of extortion‑related tasks including investigative, surveillance and proactive targeting. The Organized Crime Unit is looking for qualified experienced officers to assist SPS with a comprehensive response to extortions and related organized crime threats while providing investigative support and surveillance to target criminal operations in the city of Surrey. With emphasis on public safety, the Proactive Enforcement Section conducts a variety of investigations associated to elements of organized crime groups, extortions, threats, drug and firearms related offences, robbery, and prolific property crime/REVOII targets.
