Responsibilities

• The Special Investigation Section (SIS) are responsible for investigations that involve sexual offences, intimate partner or domestic violence, criminal harassment, human trafficking, child, and elder abuse.
• The Child Protection Team is a multi-disciplinary team that works at Sophie’s Place Child Advocacy Centre (CYAC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Families (MCFD) and Victim Services. This team conducts criminal investigations into reports of physical, sexual, or mental abuse of children 15 years and younger where the offender is of a chargeable age (12 years and older); person in authority; or there is a relationship of dependency and the alleged incident is believed to have occurred in the City of Surrey, BC.
