Position Summary

The director of civil rights compliance reports to the assistant to the president for institutional equity and compliance. The director serves as a deputy title IX coordinator and the University’s ADA coordinator, assisting with all major duties of the title IX coordinator, including managing the day-to-day responsibilities under university policies related to civil rights, Title IX, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and equal opportunity. This position oversees the scheduling and development of education and training curriculum provided by CMU’s Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity (OCRIE) to students, faculty, and staff, prepares required compliance documents, reviews and updates plans and policies related to civil rights obligations, and assists in the review and implementation of the University’s equal opportunity plans and related policies.
