About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA)
The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children through effective regulation, compliance, quality assessment and continuous improvement across the early childhood sector. The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is responsible for the regulation and quality assessment of Victorian early childhood education and care services to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and developmental outcomes of children across Victoria.
VECRA regulates approximately 5,000 services including family day care, outside school hours care, long day care and kindergarten programs, as required by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law).
