The role. Reporting through the administrative leadership team, the Director of Surgical Services holds full accountability for the clinical and operational performance of the surgical services department, including budget oversight, staffing, and regulatory compliance. The Director cultivates evidence-based clinical practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes while managing variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
