The Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Helsinki invites applications for a four-year position of Doctoral Researcher in the Anthropology of Humanitarianism, starting 20 November 2026.
The role is part of the New Humanitarian Infrastructures at the End of Aid project, funded by the Finnish Research Council and led by Dr. Stefan Millar. The project explores transformations in humanitarian systems amid the global withdrawal of aid, focusing on Kenya and diaspora networks in Canada.
The researcher will conduct ethnographic research, possibly in Kenya or another relevant site, and contribute through independent research, participation, and collaboration.
