PhD Research Fellow in Linguistics

We are seeking a dedicated PhD Research Fellow in linguistics to work on the CatS project at the University of Agder, Faculty of Humanities and Education, located at Campus Kristiansand. This full‑time, fixed‑term (three‑year) position begins 1 January 2027.

About the Position

The project Category shifts, the periphery, and the structure of linguistic categories (CatS) (2026‑2030) aims to develop a formal theory of categories, category shifts, and category boundaries, linking semantic, pragmatic, and morphosyntactic properties of shifting lexical items. The project focuses on the category Noun in five languages (English, Norwegian, Spanish, Polish, and a classifier language) and investigates:
