Job Description Bit repair technician reports to the Operations Manager/Supervisor and performs grinding, blast cleaning, brazing, welding, hardfacing, and assembly of drill bits & DLR to a high standard. Other duties include moving bits as required.
Responsibilities and Accountability - Adhere to contractual obligations such as timekeeping.
- Assemble components to engineering drawings and set procedures.
- Apply various torch brazing and hardfacing processes.
- Operate oxy/acetylene and propane equipment, performing necessary checks.
- Use handheld grinding tools.
- Weld (TIG) and use gas torches for hardfacing and brazing jobs.
- Inspect parts as specified and report non‑conformances, using standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
