Job Description
Position Purpose and Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials using various equipment (van trailers, straight trucks, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off frames) while ensuring compliance with DOT, EPA, state and local regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, verifying the integrity of equipment, load conditions, and accuracy of shipment records, manifests, and container labeling.
- Maintain up-to-date DOT requirements, including driver log books, Vehicle Inspection Records, transportation permits, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding load conditions or paperwork inconsistencies, and notify supervisors of any moving violations or accidents.
