Primary Purpose

The Electrician is assigned to the maintenance, installation and operation of low and high voltage equipment up to 14 KV and electrical distribution systems on campus and to providing trade/job instruction and work direction to lower classifications and others as required.

Key Accountabilities

Maintenance & Repairs

• Installs, maintains and repairs electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment including but not limited to cables, motors, starters, fuses, relays, transformers, lighting systems, communication systems, distribution and control circuits, equipment and appliances, balancing rotating equipment, replacing motor bearings.
• Through a preventive maintenance program ensure the safety of the distribution system from 14KV to low voltage systems.
• Develops and maintains compliancy programs.
• Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
