**Job Description:**

The Emergency Medical Technician demonstrates critical thinking capabilities in working autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers in the delivery of care to critically ill patients in diverse and non-traditional settings.
**Essential Functions**

+ Quickly and efficiently responds to emergency and non-emergency calls.
+ Assesses patients' conditions to determine the nature and extent of their injuries or illnesses.
+ Provides basic life support and administers first aid, CPR, and other basic life support measures.
+ Stabilizes patients at the scene of an emergency and during transport to medical facilities.
+ Safely transports patients to hospitals or other medical facilities.
+ Operates emergency vehicles. Drives ambulances and other emergency vehicles safely and responsibly.
