Overview

FortisBC is seeking a Co-op Student in Electrical Engineering to join the Transmission & Distribution standards team. This 8-month term provides hands-on experience designing and drafting standards for overhead and underground lines, with opportunities to work with operations and other utilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and drafting of the different standards for overhead and underground lines
• Perform multiple site visits to better understand the Transmission and Distribution system when making changes to the construction standards
• Provide technical support and work with the Operations team
• Research technical information on new utility products and practices
• Network with other utilities

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with an Electrical focus — third or fourth year required
