Position Overview

Full performance level in the daily operation of Solid Waste Transfer Station's heavy equipment within a high traffic area. Under general supervision, controls the transferring, loading, and compacting of trash, recyclables, yard waste and other materials into semi-tractor trailers for transport to landfills in an efficient and safe manner.

Summary of Job Duties

Safely operates transfer station equipment (e.g. rubber tired front loaders, wheeled excavator, stationary excavator, skid steers/bobcat, roll-off truck, backhoe, street sweepers, snowplow, compactors, grinder) in high-traffic areas. Communicates with co-workers, customers, and contractors to maintain safe and efficient operations; directs inbound vehicles to dump their loads in proper location.
