Job Description

Permanent, full‑time position (37.5 hours per week). Flexible shift. Start date: ASAP. Union: BCGEU.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly cleaning and maintenance of the automated specimen handling system (Autoline) and other automated equipment (Capper, Pluggo, Siemens LabCell, etc.).
• Repair any required parts and replace components as needed.
• Conduct daily checks of sodium azide system, compressor, and nitrogen tanks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Coordinate closely with external vendors when necessary.
• Receive, sort, pack, and deliver incoming specimens to testing areas.
• Enter patient information into the computer system and accession requisitions.
• Load, unload, store, retrieve, and dispose of specimens.
