Work on the Focus Ion Beam (FIB) for 12 hours shift, 9am to 9pm, 3 days work and 4 days rest in one week, alternate week pattern.
Execute TEM lamella preparation using the FIB system on samples as and when required.
Perform cross-sectioning and site-specific analysis using FIB and Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) to locate and expose defects or features of interest for samples.
Review job requests and priorities left by the day-shift team, complete jobs in the queue to ensure a steady flow, and prepare a clear job list for the day shift.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, conduct basic alignments and optimizations (e.g., beam alignments, stigmation) to keep tools in peak condition.
Identify and troubleshoot minor issues. Escalate major tool failures to the appropriate on-call support or management.
