The Role

Our client is seeking a Freedom of Information (FOI ) Lawyer to work on secondment with a high profile federal government department, managing and overseeing FOI requests received by the Department. 

The Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be required to:

• assisting the business area with processing FOI requests, including, as drafting correspondence to external stakeholders to undertake consultation as required, reviewing documents relevant to the FOI requests, marking-up documents, and drafting decision letters;
• assisting with processing internal reviews applications; of all FOI requests received by the department, ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations contained in the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act );
