**POSITION SUMMARY:** Reporting to a Supervisor or Manager, the Gate Attendant is responsible for accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording waste volumes entering the post-collection site, as well as collecting appropriate usage fees from customers. At certain work locations, the Gate Attendant will also be responsible for ensuring the coordination of drivers and equipment to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers.

**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Answers telephone and provides general information to callers and routes calls to appropriate staff.
+ Accepts or rejects waste load based on content; suggests alternatives based on special waste, type of waste and/or local market training
+ Receives payment from customers; provides receipt to customers.
