Athletic Coaching Requirements

• All head coaches must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a head high school coach.
• All head coaches must have a valid Arizona Coaching Certificate or complete the NFHS Level 1 Certification by taking an NFHS Sport Specific course or Teaching Sports Skills course (along with other mandated courses).
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches course.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Concussion in Sports course.
