Evidence shows that being active in nature has multiple benefits for health and wellbeing. They include improved mental wellbeing, physical health, cognitive function and social wellbeing as well as stress reduction. Energize Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT) have been collaborating for many years to raise awareness and build capacity of Green Social Prescribing (GSP) in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Together, the organisations have successfully delivered a range of initiatives that have raised awareness of nature-based health interventions among healthcare professionals and activity providers, developed resources for both practitioners and the public, explored barriers to accessing green spaces, supported community groups...
