Overview

Casual Health Care Assistant – Casual Pool – Nelson Hospital. Work alongside nursing teams across all wards/units to provide patient care and support. This role offers variety across all wards/units and requires flexibility to adapt to a changing clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in care delivery.
• Provide one‑to‑one patient therapeutic observations.
• Perform tasks directed by nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Support general surgical, medical, and acute care nursing teams.

Qualifications

• Experience within the health sector required.
• Ideally hold NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Health Assistance Strand, or equivalent.
• Willingness to study toward the required qualification.
