DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands the philosophy, objective, policies and standards of the hospital and nursing department.
• Adheres to the hospital policies and procedures and nursing code of conduct.
• Keeps confidential of patients’ personal and medical history.
• Listens to ward report before the change of each shift and receives assignments.
• Assists the nurses in doing basic nursing care for patients’ comfort, safety, nutritional, and elimination needs.
• Gives bed bath and provides total personal hygiene to non‑ambulatory patients.
• Assists ambulatory patients when necessary.
• Assists staff nurse for dressing, setting intravenous lines, catheterization, swabbing, etc.
• Clears the trolley after use and places all instruments in the appropriate place.
• Assists the nurse in taking and recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration.
