PURPOSE STATEMENT
To assist the nursing staff in providing care for patients on the Ward/ Unit for effective healthcare delivery.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist patients to access and use the toilet facilities, showers and bedpansAssist patients to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance (e.g bathing, mouthcare).Provide for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals Assist with manual handling and transferring of patients between departments when required Assist the professional nurse to undertake the last offices of the deceased patients Assist patients during admission and discharge Undertake ward dusting and general cleanliness of the ward/workplace Care for and undertake cleaning of equipment ...
