PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION

The purpose of this classification is to operate heavy equipment and perform manual work functions associated with transportation of materials and construction, maintenance and repair of county landfills, roads, bridges, and drainage systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

+ Operates a variety of heavy equipment, machinery and tools used in construction, maintenance and repair of county landfills, roads, bridges, and drainage systems (which may include a compactor, front-end loading truck, motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, asphalt spreader); operates all other equipment, machinery, and tools as assigned.
