Responsibilities
- Run tissue processor to produce paraffin blocks. File paraffin blocks and slides.
- Embed pathology specimen to view all layers.
- Cut Pathology specimens on rotary microtome.
- Stain routine Hematoxylin Eosin to view tissue section, stain routine special stains (GMS, AFB, PAS) in order to identify organism or specific tissue elements.
- Enzyme histochemistry (leder esterase).
- Perform order entry and update on LISA to bill special stains.
- Label and sign out slides to assure accurate distribution of cases.
- Cover slipper (manual and automated) to ensure there is no water or air bubble under coverslip.
- Perform on all routine work, quality control to ensure high standard in the laboratory.
