FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the authority of the Secretary General, the Inuktitut Translator provides accurate translations of various documents and curriculum resources, such as student and teacher materials and program guides, in text, audio, and visual files. The translator may also be required to do some proofreading and interpret at meetings to ensure productive communication in Inuktitut and either English or French.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Translator's certificate or diploma and/or 2 years relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
