The Sprouse laboratory in the Program in Psychology in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work on the mechanisims underlying the syntax of Jamaican Creole.

The successful applicant will work closely with the PI on a project on the syntactic structure of Jamaican Creole. The project will explore both the grammar and processing of long- distance dependencies in Jamaican Creole (among other phenomena). The successful applicant will work with the PI to design the experiments, develop the language materials, recruit participants (native speakers of Jamaican Creole), analyze the results, and prepare publications. The candidate will also work with the PI and other members of the lab on any associated administrative tasks that help facilitate the project.
