Kaitohutohu - Wāteatanga | Advisor – Accessibility

This fixed‑term (through April 2027) full‑time role is based in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch, and offers strong career development opportunities. The position is on site at Statistics New Zealand.

As part of the Specialist Data Capability Team, you will support accessibility for disabled people across Aotearoa New Zealand. You will build trusted relationships with colleagues and external partners, influence major national initiatives such as the Census, the Household Disability Survey, and key statistical releases, and lead the embedding of accessibility from design to delivery. Your work will help ensure that Statistics New Zealand’s services and data products are accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for disabled people and their whānau.

What you bring

• Experience with accessibility tools, technologies, or practices, or a strong understanding of barriers faced by disabled people.
