About the Position
The overall responsibility of the laboratory analyst is to independently conduct routine and non‑routine analyses of geological samples.
Responsibilities
- Operate and perform maintenance on AAS, ICP‑AES and/or ICP‑MS instruments;
- Identify & correct QC related problems by ensuring the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards;
- Evaluate data using instrument software and GEMS;
- Use Microsoft Word & Excel to create written reports;
- Prepare sample dilutions, instrument operating solutions and calibration standards;
- Test and evaluate calibration standards;
- Ensure all prepared and available samples are accounted for in the lab;
