Laboratory Assistant II - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

THe Laboratory Assistant II receives patients, correctly identifies patients, collects specimens from patients, transports specimens, processes specimens, performs clerical functions, and assists technical personnel with assigned non-technical tasks. Processes and packages specimens being referred to a reference laboratory for testing. Works under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services, Laboratory Manager, and Lab Supervisor.

+ Coordinates specimen preparation and packaging for reference lab testing. Monitors all outstanding reference lab orders. Scans reference lab reports into the computer system as they are received and retrieves scanned documents.
