Classified Posting:

Laborer : 12-month positions receive paid holidays, sick & personal days, earn vacation time and are eligible for Health and Dental Insurance and membership in the NYS Retirement System.


Approximate hours: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (School recess and summer hours, adjusted to building needs)




Distinguishing Features of the Class

The work involves performing routine manual labor, requiring physical endurance and a willingness to perform a variety of routine and repetitive tasks. Direct supervision is received from a variety of higher-ranking employees who create work assignments and review work completed.

Typical Work Activities include but are not limited to:


+ Working independently and in conjunction with head custodians, custodians, maintenance mechanics, groundworkers, and other classifications to complete tasks.
